1st Jineology Conference to be held in Northern Syria on the initiative of women will be held on January 12-13. The conference will be held with the participation of two hundred delegates from all the cities of North Syria, mainly Aleppo, Shahba, Afrin, Rakka, Tebqa, Eyn Jesus, Minbic, Kobanê, Gre Spi, Serêkanîye, Hasekê. Arab, Syriac, Armenian, Chechen, Turkmen and Kurdish women will be present in the conference, where the richness of the people and beliefs of North Syria are also observed. In addition, women struggling with internationalization will be ready at the conference. Muslims, Azizi, Christians and Alevism women from different beliefs will also attend the conference. Zozan Sima, member of the Executive Committee of the Academy of Jineology , gave information about the preparations of the Jineology Conference, the purpose and contents of the conference.
‘Making the conference is an important step’
Zozan, speaking that the conference is an important step for the women of North Syria, said “Women in northern Syria have many products, it is also very important to bring together these products in terms of Jineology studies in Kurdistan.’’ For about three years, studies of Jineology have been carried out in Rojava of Kurdistan. We want to present the practices that we have done with the conference. There was a woman revolution in Rojava. This is very important. In line with this, new projects and academy models will be created. The works of the centers established are planned to be presented to the conferences by preparing women’s studies documented by other institutions.
‘Jineology Abdullah Öcalan’s suggestion’
Zozan, who reminds of the emergence of Jineology with PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan’s suggestion, said ‘We want to present and introduce everyone what Abdullah Öcalan said for Jineology . ” The reports of the work of the women in the last two years will be read in the conference. Demonstration that we prepared for our activities will be done. The sociological analysis report will also be read.’’
‘Be an example to the whole world’
In North Syria, although Jineology has been newly developed, it has undergone forty years of undergrowth, saying, “A faculty called Jineology is opened as a first in the world. We have a sample of the Jinwar women’s village, the Academy of Jineology opened and provides training in Jineology . These are completely historical steps. We want to discuss, criticize and self-criticize them, and we hope that the conference will exemplify and spread the practice of Rojava throughout the world. “
