According to the lists submitted to the Supreme Board of Elections (Yüksek Seçim Kurulu – YSK) for the snap elections, the Peoples’ Democratic Party (Halkların Demokratik Partisi – HDP) has nominated the highest number of women for the parliament.
The number of women running for parliament in the main parties are:
AKP: 126
CHP: 137
HDP: 230
HDP has nominated equal numbers of women and men in provinces like Şırnak, Van and Mardin where the party is expected to win all the seats.
HDP was the party with the most female candidates in the June 7 and November 1 elections as well.
